About us

Parks Weather tells you what the weather will do at the theme park you're heading to, during its opening hours, and what stays open if it rains. It is a project by Benicool Srl, the Genoa-based company behind a network of online guides to Europe's great landmarks.

Why it exists

If you're going to Alton Towers or Disneyland Paris, you don't need to know whether it will rain somewhere in the area. You need to know whether it will rain between 10am and 6pm, while you're queuing for the outdoor rides. General weather apps don't tell you that, or which rides stay open in rain and wind. Parks Weather starts there: forecasts for the park's exact location, during opening hours only, alongside official opening times and queue times.

Benicool, the company behind Parks Weather

Benicool started in 2023 as a project among friends, a guide to the Doge's Palace in Venice, and has been a company, Benicool Srl, since 2025. Today it runs a network of vertical guides, one website per landmark and per language, from the Colosseum to the Palace of Versailles and from the Acropolis to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Travellers find them on Google, read opening times, prices and tips, and buy tickets from partner platforms such as Tiqets, GetYourGuide and Booking.com.

  • 110+vertical websites

The partners

Benicool is led by four partners who run every website themselves, from choosing the landmark to the last line of copy. Each looks after one part of the work.

  • Andrea Semonella

An expert in technology and above all artificial intelligence. He brought automation into every stage of the work, from research to publishing, which is how Parks Weather updates itself every 30 minutes.

Where the data come from

  • Forecasts: MET Norway, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, under a CC BY 4.0 licence, downloaded every 30 minutes for each park's exact coordinates.
  • Opening times and queue times: from the parks' own systems via ThemeParks.wiki. Where they aren't available, we show the usual hours and say so.
  • Indoor rides and bad-weather rules: from the parks' official websites and park rules, linked at the bottom of each page.
  • Month-by-month climate: open data from the DWD, KNMI, Météo-France, ARPAV, Arpae and ARPA Lombardia weather services, credited under each chart.
  • Ticket prices: read automatically from our partners' pages, so they are always the prices on sale.

How we read the forecast

The verdict for each day (perfect, good, at risk, rain) is our reading of the hour-by-hour forecast during opening hours: millimetres of rain, thunderstorms, wind and feels-like temperature, with the same fixed thresholds for every park. A forecast is still a forecast: beyond day three it is a trend.

We are not the parks

Parks Weather is an independent guide: it is not the official website of any park and doesn't speak for them. If a ride closes because of wind or a park changes its hours, that's the park's decision.

How the site is paid for

When you buy a ticket through our links, Tiqets or GetYourGuide pay us a commission. You pay the same price you would on their websites. Commissions never change the forecast: a rainy day stays "rain" even when there's a ticket to sell.
