Islands of Adventure stays open in the rain, but much of the park is outdoors and its big coasters and water rides are exposed. Universal's rules say attractions may close because of weather, so expect rides like VelociCoaster, the Hulk Coaster and Doctor Doom's Fearfall to pause in storms. If a hurricane or tropical storm warning is issued for Orlando within seven days of your arrival, tickets bought directly from Universal can be rescheduled without fees.

The only weather exception is a hurricane or tropical storm warning (or a state of emergency) for Orlando or your hometown within seven days of arrival: tickets bought directly from Universal can then be changed or canceled without fees, while tickets from third-party sellers follow that seller's own policy.
Parks, Attractions or Entertainment may close due to refurbishing, capacity, weather or special events; change operating hours; and otherwise change or be discontinued without notice and without liability to the owners of Universal Orlando Resort. Getting to Islands of Adventure
By car: Take I-4 to exit 75A if you're heading east or exit 74B if you're heading west, park in the garages at 6000 Universal Boulevard and walk through CityWalk to the gate; regular self-parking is $35 a day including tax, Prime parking $50 to $60.
By public transport: LYNX buses Link 21, Link 38 (International Drive Express) and Link 40 all run to Universal Orlando, and guests at Universal's on-site hotels get free shuttles and water taxis to the parks.
