Thorpe Park in the rain: what stays open
Thorpe Park opens in the rain, but rides may close temporarily in adverse weather. Wind is measured at height, so a ride can stop even when it feels calm on the ground, and the park publishes a gust limit for each ride: from 23 mph on Vortex to 47 mph on Hyperia. Most rides stop below 5°C, and heavy rain halts Nemesis Inferno and SAW - The Ride. The park lists two indoor attractions: The Walking Dead: The Ride and Sunset Cinema.

We want everyone to experience our awesome rides as safely as possible, sometimes we may have to temporarily close a ride during adverse weather conditions. Getting to Thorpe Park
By car: The park is about 20 miles from London: leave the M25 at junction 11 or 13 (not 12) and follow the A320; parking is £12, or £20 for priority parking.
By public transport: Take the train from London Waterloo to Staines, then the 950 Express bus to the park, every 15 to 20 minutes; alternatively go to Chertsey and catch the 446.
